- The Utah Jazz have a sneaky game plan, they’ll get down by 18, lull you into a false sense of security, and storm back to win the game. So far they have worked this on LA Clippers, Miami Heat, and Orlando Magic. Their coach Jerry Sloan may have something to do with that, just listen to what he had to say on being asked if Miami-Orlando was the toughest back-to-back road schedule the Jazz could have:
Jerry Sloan: “You mean because of the weather? It’s a 20-minute flight. It’s not so bad.”

To me he looks like some Clint Eastwood character from a Western. I can see him mouthing “Tough schedule? Go ahead, make my day”, and spitting out of the corner of his mouth at a passing tumbleweed.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that Paul Millsap has found a 3 point shot from nowhere and is playing out of his mind, he scored 46 against Miami, pushing the game to overtime and a 116-114 win. Miami, you’ve been Millslapped.
- Quote of the week/season via Paul Pierce’s twitter after beating Miami: “It’s been a pleasure to bring my talents to south beach now on to Memphis”. Taking one’s talents to wherever is now a running joke in the NBA, after LeBron said it on his hour long ‘Decision’ where he announced which team he would sign with.
- The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 5-5, second in Central division, while Miami is 6-4 but third in Southeast division. Seems there is life in Cleveland post Lebron era.
- Phoenix Suns vs LA Lakers, they met previously in the Western conference finals, where the Suns lost. Now the Amare Stoudemire less Suns set a franchise record with 22 three pointers, second most in NBA history. They won.
- Chris Paul was injured for most of last season, now he’s back to leading the Hornets to the best record in the league, 8-1, tied with San Antonio Spurs.
- Rookie watch: John Wall of the Wizards has a sprained left foot. He’s averaging 18.1 points and 9.8 assists per game leading the rookie of the year race. Closely behind is Blake Griffin, a monstrous athlete, who is finding his footing in the Clippers offense.
