Kobe Bryant had his both jerseys retired on Monday(18/12/07)

What a start to the week! First of all, congratulations to one of the best players of all time, the Black Mamba, Mr. Kobe Bean Bryant to get both of his jersey numbers retired in LA!

Now to the games. A total of 10 games were played on Monday, of which five ended within two points - talk about mini heart attacks.

Summary of the Day-

Celtics stole the ball and the game to maintain a two game buffer ahead the Cavs. Knicks finally lost after going unbeaten in the previous week. Timberwolves defeated the Trail blazers in a crucial match, keeping the Timberwolves 1.5 games ahead of Portland. Rockets defeated the Jazz on a strong fourth quarter performance from Chris Paul. Bulls defeated the 76ers to increase their winning streak to 6 games. Carmelo scored a career-low four points in a Thunder win. Durant took over the game and hit a game winner in OT against the Lakers after an abysmal shooting night.

Best Game of the Day-

Golden State Warriors 116-114 Los Angeles Lakers (in OT)

It's tough to pick only one, when five games ended within two points. But we think this game had it all. An overtime, a game winner from Kevin Durant, and a blocked attempted game-winning layup by Lonzo Ball. Also, the game was close for almost the entire second half, unlike some games in which comebacks were involved.

Top performer of the Day-

Kevin Durant- 36/11/8 and a game winner

Kevin Durant gave an unintended personal tribute to the Black Mamba, missing many shots early on, continuing to attempt tough shots all night, and finally taking over when the game was on the line. It doesn't really make sense to select a player who shot less than 35% from the field... but hey, he performed when it mattered the most. Kevin Durant is our player of the day.

Surprise player of the Day-

Frank Kaminsky- Scoring season high 24 points(15 points in the first half)

Frank the tank finally got out of his slump and gave Charlotte a much needed boost from the bench to lift them above the rolling Knicks to finally win a basketball game.
