NASA Club Lifted the men’s title of the 1st Nepal National Club Level Basketball Championship, defeating Whitehouse Club 98 – 83 in the final played at National Sports Council Covered Hall, Kathmandu, Nepal. Joel Debortoli of NASA scored 32 points for his team to lift the title while Rishi Robertson of Whitehouse scored 40 points for his team, which were still not enough to help his team win the title.
NASA received Nrs. 25,000 as cash prize along with the winners’ trophy, while Whitehouse received Nrs. 15,000 with the runners-up trophy.
Joel Debortoli of NASA Club was adjudged the MVP in the men’s category of the Championship.
The championship is organized by Nepal Basketball Association. This is the first edition of the championship and each team was allowed to play 3 foreigners in the squad. The top 6 men’s and women’s teams were invited to compete in the inaugural edition of the championship.
National Sports Council member secretary Mr. Yuvraj Lama handed over the trophies to the winners and runners up. The women’s final will be played on Friday.
