Two players have been added to the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars Game. Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu will join Team Deron, replacing Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green, who will miss the contest with a groin injury. Green's teammate with the Rockets, Tari Eason, will join Team Joakim and replace Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Losing Green is a big blow to Team Deron, which will be coached by three-time All-Star Deron Williams as he was the second player drafted onto the roster. Duren was the final pick of the draft. Team Joakim, which will be coached by two-time All-Star Joakim Noah, will likely have the size to make up for his absence as the 2013-2014 Defensive Player of the Year seemingly prioritized size while drafting his 2023 Jordan Rising Stars Game roster.

Dosunmu is in his second year with the Bulls, averaging 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game while shooting 50.9% from the field, 32.2% from 3-point range and 80.6% from the free-throw line. Eason is in his rookie season with the Rockets, averaging 8.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game while shooting 44.4% from the field, 34.5% from 3-point range, and 75.8% from the free-throw line.

What is the format for the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars Game?

The 2023 Jordan Rising Stars Game will feature four teams consisting of seven players that will be coached by former NBA stars. In addition to Deron Williams, Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, and Jason Terry will coach the remaining two rosters.

Williams, Noah, and Gasol drafted their rosters from a 21-player pool consisting of NBA rookies and sophomores, while Terry will lead a roster of seven G League players. While Gasol had the first overall pick of the draft, the rosters were drafted in a snake-style format.

The games will begin on Friday, February 17th, at 9:00 p.m. ET. Team A will face Team B and Team C will face Team D in the semifinals, where the games will be played until one team reaches a target score of 40 points.

The two winners of the semifinal games will then face off to determine the champion of the tournament. The final game of the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars Game will be played until one team reaches a target score of 25 points.
