Indiana Pacers rookie point guard Andrew Nembhard had the game of his young career on Monday night versus the Golden State Warriors.

Nembhard scored a career-best 31 points to go along with eight rebounds and 13 assists. The shorthanded Pacers also pulled off a 112-104 upset win over the defending champs. Nembhard, the 31st pick from this year’s draft, made a series of key jumpers late in the fourth to put the Warriors away for good.

Nembhard's impressive performance later led to some strong reactions from fans on NBA Twitter. So on that note, here are some of the best fan reactions to the rookies’ performance.

Many fans were straight up shocked by Nembhard’s performance and couldn’t believe he was a second-round pick.

“Andrew Nembhard is actually insane 😭😭 how did he fall to 31,” one fan said.
“I saw some predictions of drafts at early 20s and I was shocked when he fell. Every game I’m more grateful the front office didn’t mess this up 😂,” another fan said.
“As a Pacers fan, they believed in him since day 1, gave him the largest contract ever for a 2nd round pick, but cant imagine they thought he'd have a game like this lol,” one Pacers fan said.

Other fans jokingly compared Nembhard to Warriors superstar point guard Steph Curry.

“Steph Curry and Andrew Nembhard switched bodies tonight lmao,” one fan joked.

Some even questioned whether Nembhard was already as good as Pacers rising star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who missed the game with a groin injury.

“So is this guy better than Haliburton 😳?” one fan asked.
“We got Haliburton and backup Haliburton 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” another joked.

However, there were also some haters who said that Nembhard will never perform that well again.

“Trust me he's never doing this again,” one Warriors fan said.

Others attributed Nembhard’s performance to just having freedom on a rebuilding team.

“This is what happens when you’re on a rebuilding team and can just do you. NBA Twitter n***** be ready to give up on guys after 15 games 😭,” one fan said.

Some fans also took the opportunity to take shots at Curry for being outplayed by the rookie. Curry finished with just 12 points on 3-for-17 (17.6%) shooting.

Others pointed out that Curry gets a pass when it comes to his bad games compared to other heavily scrutinized stars like LeBron James.

Despite the off night, Curry is still fifth in the NBA in scoring at 30.0 points per game. Meanwhile, Andrew Nembhard is now averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game on 53.4% shooting over his past five games. So while Curry just had an off night, Nembhard is looking like the real deal for Indiana.
