"Bet you're mad he wears a cap backwards" - NBA fans roast Colin Cowherd for erratic Dan Hurley prediction

NBA fans made fun of media personality Colid Cowherd for his Dan Hurley prediction. Hurley was recently named to be a target of the LA Lakers to be their new head coach for the 2024-25 season. The decorated college coach has a chance to lead a team at the professional level for next season.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Hurley is set to meet with the Lakers sometime this week. After much speculation that the team was close to naming former player JJ Redick as the new head coach, the UConn coach became part a candidate for the position.

Cowherd went on to social media and shared that he believes that the accomplished college coach won't be the Lakers' head coach. Instead, he named the New York Knicks as the team that would pursue Hurley. The longtime radio host was confident that the Knicks would eventually move on from coach Tom Thibodeau.

"I’m Dan Hurley — wife is from New Jersey. Wait until the Knicks job opens. It will. It’s the NBA," Cowherd posted.

Former Lakers star believes Dan Hurley is the right choice for the team

The Lakers fired Darvin Ham after two seasons where they were eliminated by the same team (Denver Nuggets) for consecutive years. The team is looking for a change, especially in the coaching department. A former star of the organization, Magic Johnson, believes that the right choice for them is to choose Hurley.

Johnson made an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where he named the UConn coach to be the perfect choice for the franchise right now.

"I want the coach to be Hurley," Johnson said. "If we can sign him, I think it works for both. It works for coach Hurley, who won back to back NCAA championships with Connecticut, so he has a championship background. He's great with offense and defensive strategy. I think that the players will respect him. And he's tough."

Johnson also mentioned that the Lakers need someone to hold the players accountable and believes Hurley to be that guy.
