Bronny James made his highly anticipated NBA G League debut on Saturday during the South Bay Lakers' 110-96 win against the Salt Lake City Stars. LeBron James’ son was in the starting lineup alongside Quincy Olivari, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Maxwell Lewis and Christian Koloko.
LeBron, along with his wife Savannah, daughter Zhuri, mother Gloria and Lakers teammate Anthony Davis, attended the game at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, California. Meanwhile, D’Angelo Russell was also in attendance to watch the game, arriving at the Lakers' practice facility with his son and coach JJ Redick watched the action unfold from the sidelines with his family.
Bronny James recorded six points on 2 of 9 shooting, including 0 of 4 from beyond the arc in his NBA G League debut with the South Bay Lakers. The young guard added three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. However, he committed five turnovers and finished with a plus/minus of -1 after playing 31 minutes.

Bronny James through four quarters
Bronny didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard in his NBA G League debut. The former USC guard opened the game by hitting a pull-up jumper off a kick-out pass from Quincy Olivari on South Bay’s very first possession.
Bronny’s playmaking skills were on full display as he threw a highlight-worthy lob from the top of the key, setting up an easy dunk for his teammate.
The South Bay Lakers closed the first quarter with a 32-15 lead, with Bronny contributing two points and two assists in the opening period.
The Lakers rookie started the second quarter with a turnover but quickly redeemed himself by sinking a smooth floater over the outstretched arm of Oscar Tshiebwe.
Bronny missed a few easy layup opportunities, but his natural defensive skills shone through as he executed an impressive block in a 2-on-1 situation. Maxwell Lewis capitalized on his teammate’s strong defensive play by sinking a 3-pointer on the other end.
The South Bay Lakers held a 58-42 lead at halftime, with Bronny contributing four points on 2 of 6 shooting, including 0 of 3 from beyond the arc. In 16 minutes, he also recorded two rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Bronny’s offensive struggles persisted into the third quarter, as the Lakers rookie missed both of his field goal attempts but converted two free throws, which accounted for two points. It was a quiet quarter for him overall, with just an assist and one turnover added to his stat line.
Bronny began the fourth quarter on the bench and returned to the game with 8:18 left. The Lakers rookie didn’t contribute much in the final period, adding only one more turnover to his tally.
