Tacko Fall last suited up for the Boston Celtics during the 2020-21 season. He signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers the following campaign and recently played in Puerto Rico with the Piratas de Quebradillas. Fall was back on familiar ground, however, on Monday as his former team faced the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Fall watched the Celtics close out the first quarter with a 9-0 blast to grab an early lead that they would never give up. Boston fended off every rally Dallas mounted before eventually cruising to the finish line. The TD Garden crowd erupted in cheers and celebration when the final buzzer sounded in the Cs’ 106-88 victory over Luka Doncic and Co.

After the game, Tacko Fall went to the locker room to celebrate with the franchise that signed him to his first NBA contract. A few days later, Fall’s wife had a special announcement on social media:

“Celebrating the NBA World Champs, then celebrating our daughter’s first steps shortly after!”

The clip on IG showed Grant Williams, one of Fall’s former Celtics teammates who now plays for the Charlotte Hornets, looking stunned. Williams’ jaw dropped when the 7-foot-6 big man’s daughter began to take a few hesitant steps.

Tacko Fall’s response to the post didn’t have any words but the smile and heart emojis said it all. That it came after the Celtics won their record-breaking 18th championship made the occasion even more special.

As the confetti fell inside TD Garden to celebrate the Boston Celtics’ Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks, Tacko Fall’s family also celebrated. They went to center court to talk and congratulate many of his former teammates. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the others were only too happy to see the fan-favorite return to enjoy the moment with them.

Fall and his family, together with Grant Williams, also went to the tunnel to spend more time with the victorious Celtics. The former UCF star posed for photos with Tatum, Brown and some of the other Celtics. His daughter was always in his arms, oblivious to what was happening around her.

Years from now, Tacko Fall’s daughter will likely look at this moment with amazement. She might not be able to believe she made her first steps while the Boston Celtics were celebrating their 18th championship.
