Boston Celtics announcers Brian Scalabrine and Drew Carter mocked LeBron James and the LA Lakers again over Russell Westbrook on Sunday during the Timberwolves-Celtics game. The duo did that during Boston's preseason Abu Dhabi trip previously when they played against the Nuggets on Oct. 4.

"You're telling me one of LeBron's teammates became a scapegoat out of nowhere?" Carter said.

James responded to those comments the next day using some strong language.

"Took a trip all the way to Abu Dhabi to be on my.....Eat some breakfast first! Anyways Brodie a LEGEND," he wrote.

The Celtics announcers addressed their conversation after James' response. After insinuating that Westbrook was a 'scapegoat' because of James during his subpar tenure with the 17x champions, the duo agreed it was because of the media and not the Lakers star.

However, Scalabrine and Carter didn't miss the chance to mock James and the Lakers after Westbrook produced 14 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists against LA on Saturday in a 127-101 win on the road.

They threw shade on LeBron James, citing his absence from social media platform X.

"Oh by the way, did you see Russell Westbrook killing the Lakers yesterday?" Scalabrine said.
"You know what? LeBron’s off Twitter so we can go down that route, it's okay," Carter replied.
"That was what we wanted to see, Westbrook getting his revenge," Scalabrine said.

LeBron James announced on Wednesday that he was going off social media after retweeting a post by Kevin Durant's agent on "hate and negativity."

Russell Westbrook gets into it with Lakers crowd after win over LeBron James and Co.

Russell Westbrook returned to the Crypto.com Arena after leaving LA for the first time as a Denver Nugget on Saturday. "The Brodie" ensured he shut his home crowd with an excellent blitz off the bench. He went off for 14 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, shooting 6 of 10.

He even hit the dagger 3 with four minutes left to put Denver ahead 113-90. That followed with an NSFW message directed to the crowd.

"Boom, bitch," Westbrook seemingly yelled.

It was an emotional return for Westbrook, who had a rough time with the fans and media alike. The Lakers missed the playoffs with a 33-49 record in his first and only full season in 2021-22. While Westbrook underperformed with averages of 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.1 assists, shooting on 44/30/67 spits, he wasn't responsible for the team's drastic drop-off alone.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis endured injury-riddled seasons, while the roster wasn't built to support the big three he formed next to the Lakers star duo.
