According to multiple sources, the Chicago Bulls are looking for 2 first-round picks in exchange for Alex Caruso.

Jake Fischer, a senior reporter at Yahoo, claimed that the Chicago Bulls are seeking to trade Alex Caruso for two first-round draft picks. Caruso is currently in the second year of a four-year contract worth $36.9 million. The Bulls, with a record of 22-26, need a run of victories to have a chance of qualifying for the Play-in.

The trade suggests that the Bulls are looking to rebuild and gain assets for the future. Alex Caruso is a versatile defender who has previously proved his mettle in the NBA. Multiple teams are expected to be linked to the player in the coming weeks. Caruso might not have the best numbers but adds a lot of defensive value to the team.

He has produced 5.5 points, 3.3 assists, and 3 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game and at 28 still has more than a few years left at the top.

Chicago Bulls looking to trade Alex Caruso

Alex Caruso has exceptional defensive IQ skills and is an NBA veteran who often goes under-appreciated. Caruso's defensive abilities have been a major reason for the Chicago Bulls' decent defensive record this season. Without his leadership and ability to handle tough matchups, it was unlikely that the Chicago Bulls would have been able to put together their recent 11-6 stretch of results.

Of course, the Bulls have responded with two losses, as one would expect. Caruso's ability to generate turnovers has been especially important in assisting the Bulls in securing crucial wins this season. His consistent hustle plays have helped Chicago rank in the top 10 in points scored off turnovers each night. Caruso is also regarded as an exceptional disruptor and was previously regarded as untouchable for a trade with the Bulls.

As the LA Lakers fans will testify, he can be a crucial cog in the wheel for any challenger. Alex Caruso joined the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2017 NBA Summer League, where he had several productive games, including one in which he started in place of the injured Lonzo Ball and led the Lakers to a victory.

As a result, he received the Lakers' first two-way contract and played a key role for four seasons. A number of teams looking to improve their rosters should be willing to sign him.
