Lakers fans were buzzing with excitement after Anthony Davis delivered a spectacular performance in the team's season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Davis put on an MVP-worthy display, dominating both ends of the floor as the Lakers secured a commanding 110-103 victory to tip off the JJ Redick era.

The one-time NBA champion stuffed the stat sheet with an all-around standout effort, scoring 36 points on 11-of-23 shooting, including 1-of-3 from beyond the arc. Davis also shot 13-of-15 from the free-throw line, adding 16 rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks to his impressive tally.

Lakers fans were hyped by the nine-time All-Star's monster performance, with many sharing candid reactions to his remarkable display.

"Anthony Davis had an outstanding game! Those stats highlight his all-around impact on both offense and defense. He’s really setting the tone for the Lakers this season!" said another.
"Nigg*s really tried to say that he isn’t Top 10 in the league. The apology needs to be as loud as the disrespect," commented another fan.
"If he played to his potential there isn’t a better two way big man in the NBA. He can be elite on both ends," another X user wrote.
"AD is a straight-up monster when he’s locked in. Do we even appreciate him enough?" said another user.

Anthony Davis walks the talk

Before the season began, Anthony Davis expressed his determination to raise his game in the 2024-25 NBA season. In his first outing of the new campaign, the perennial All-Star proved he’s ready to back up those words with action.

"We can’t rely heavy on our individual games," Davis had said. "Obviously it’s a team effort in what we’re trying to build, but for me personally just taking it upon myself to make sure that I’m even better than what I was last year."

The Lakers will face off against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns on Friday, and fans would hope that Anthony Davis can build on his momentum and deliver another stellar performance against a strong opponent.
