Cleveland Cavaliers vs Chicago Bulls: Game Summary

The 11-0 Cleveland Cavaliers, holders of the NBA's best record, rolled into United Center on Monday for a matchup against the Chicago Bulls. Donovan Mitchell came out smoking hot and dropped 14 first-quarter points. The visitors, however, trailed 35-34 after the first 12 minutes.

The Bulls took the lead behind a balanced attack led by Josh Giddey, who had 10 points, five rebounds and two assists. Every Chicago starter contributed with at least five points to compete against the surging Cavs.

Chicago continued to get contributions from the starters. After two quarters, they already hit double-digit scores. The Bulls needed everything they could from the first-stringers as the bench tallied four points.

Mitchell added 11 more points to his tally in the second quarter. Darius Garland helped with 11 points, four assists and two steals. The Cavs took a slim 67-66 at halftime.

The offensive flow in the first half faded starting the third quarter. Chicago held Mitchell to a point after the All-Star guard dropped 25 in the first two quarters. Cleveland got a boost from Ty Jerome who scored six points with two assists.

The final quarter was a seesaw battle right from the start. Zach LaVine's floater tied the game at 106 with 5:06 to go. The Bulls never took the lead as Mitchell, Garland and Mobley made crucial baskets to give the Cavaliers a 119-113 win.
