"Curry ignored his minutes restriction just to still lose" - Fans merciless as Warriors as Lakers snap their 5-game win streak on Steph Curry's return

The LA Lakers spoiled Steph Curry's return, snapping the Golden State Warriors' five-game winning streak after scripting a 113-105 home win on Sunday. Curry was sidelined for the last 11 games because of a leg injury he sustained during the Dubs' 119-113 win over the Mavericks on February 4th.

The Warriors had found momentum of late, winning five consecutive games. However, they couldn't prevail against the LeBron James-less Lakers. Anthony Davis stuffed the stat sheet with 39 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two seals, shooting 56.0% from the field. Six other players scored in double-digits for LA to round off a brilliant team effort.

Steph Curry had 27 points on his return, a team-high for the Warriors. He shot 8-of-20, including 5-of-13 from 3-point range. Davis made it difficult for the Warriors to be effective in the paint on both ends of the floor. The Dubs' lack of size on the interior has remained their Achilles since last season.

The LA Lakers won the season series 3-1 over their rivals, and their fans let Dubnation hear it online. One fan wrote on Twitter:

"CURRY IGNORED HIS MINS RESTRICTIONS JUST TO STILL LOSE LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

The Lakers faithful followed with some more merciless reactions towards the Warriors:

Steph Curry's decent comeback outing lone bright spot for the Warriors in loss against the Lakers

The Golden State Warriors were looking to record a win on Steph Curry's return, which would've put them five games above the .500 mark for the first time this season. However, the Dubs didn't have much to celebrate other than the two-time MVP's inspiring return to the court.

Curry missed 11 games and over a month of on-court action. However, it didn't take him long to find his groove. He struggled in spurts but played well for most of the game. That's positive the Warriors can take home with them following the loss against the LA Lakers.

Steph Curry has suffered multiple injury setbacks, but his ability to bounce back and display his recovery rate has been phenomenal. The loss against the Lakers was a setback, but the Warriors had five consecutive wins entering the contest, so they have plenty to build on moving forward.

The team could look to rekindle its chemistry with Curry back on the floor, something that hasn't been a frequent occurrence since mid-December when he endured a shoulder injury. The Warriors need to improve their performance on the road, as they have dropped to a 7-24 away record.

If Curry can get a few more games under his belt and the rest of the roster stays healthy, the Warriors will be a feared outfit entering the postseason.
