The Los Angeles Clippers had a winning debut at their new home, the Intuit Dome, as they torched the Dallas Mavericks 110-96 on Monday. The Clippers come off a preseason win against the Brooklyn Nets and added another win to their kitty, while the Mavericks continue to be in dire need of a win-dropping three of their tune-up games so far.
The onus was on Klay Thompson to lead the side with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving being rested. However, the four-time NBA champion went scoreless. Thompson recorded three rebounds and one assist in the first half. The second half saw the Mavericks attempt a comeback as they tallied 24 points in the third quarter compared to LA's 27. Meanwhile, the seasoned forward continued to struggle as he went scoreless in the third stretch as well.
Quentin Grimes had a field day for the Mavericks with 20 points, four rebounds, and, two assists. Guard Jazian Gortman had 13 points. Terance Mann and James Harden had six and 10 points, respectively, as the Clippers led the Mavericks 56-51 at halftime. Harden ended his evening with 12 assists before resting it out in the fourth quarter.
The Mavericks had turnover troubles with Thompson accounting for four of them. The side had 15 of them in the first half. They were also outscored 34-20 in the paint as the Clippers' offense turned up with all 10 players in their rotation in the points column.

Questionable defense and shooting struggles highlighted Dallas' damp evening as they were thoroughly outplayed by the Clippers team on both ends of the floor. They will now hope to finish their final preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a win on Thursday, while Thompson will look to put his torrid shooting struggle behind him.
