Denver Nuggets vs LA Lakers Game Summary

The LA Lakers' starting unit got off to a hot start led by Anthony Davis who made all but one of his five shots. AD also had seven rebounds and anchored LA's defense in the middle. Despite the big opening, the Denver Nuggets only trailed 28-23 after the first 12 minutes ended.

Like in the past three games, the Lakers continue to play well in the first half. LeBron James had 14 points, the same output he had in Game 3, as the hosts took a 61-48 advantage at halftime.

The LA Lakers had some uncertain moments in the third quarter with LeBron James adding just two points to his total. Austin Reaves, Anthony Davis and the much-maligned D'Angelo Russell combined to keep the Denver Nuggets at bay.

Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. did their best to lead a couple of mini-runs but just didn't have enough support. Aaron Gordon struggled while Jamal Murray didn't have his stroke. Los Angeles took a 91-80 lead heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was when LeBron James took over for the hosts. He must have paced himself so he had plenty of gas for the final push. "King James" had 14 in the last 12 minutes to eventually drag his team to the finish line.

LA's 119-108 victory cut the series deficit to 3-1 and gave the Lakers their first win against the Nuggets in 12 games.

Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, LeBron James and Austin Reaves 3-pointers tonight

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were quite conservative with their shots from deep. They went 0-for-3 combined from that range.

Austin Reaves jacked up five shots from behind the arc and made just one. LeBron James misfired on the only 3 he took in the first half.

"The Joker" finished 2-for-5 from long range but his partner, Murray, couldn't sink one in four tries.

Meanwhile, James took another deep shot in the second half and missed again, finishing 0-for-2 tonight. Austin Reaves didn't fare well either, making just one out of six attempts.
