“Craziest in-game moment”: Devin Booker revisits repping $3000 unreleased ‘Don C’ 2s at NCAA Final Four

Devin Booker was so fond of Nike shoes that he wore various models of them during his college years in Kentucky. The Phoenix Suns superstar recently recalled when he debuted a shoe line that was not even released to the public in-game.

He spoke to Complex's Joe La Puma about the time he wore a "Don C 2." This is a redesigned version of the Nike Air Jordan 2 made by Chicago-based designer Don C formally named "Just Don x Air Jordan 2."

"That was a special moment. That was probably my craziest in-game moment," Booker said.

In a nationally televised regular season game between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Florida Gators in 2015, Devin Booker, then a freshman, and Tyler Ulis showed up wearing Don C 2s. Kentucky beat Florida in Gainesville 68-61.

Booker recalled that some were surprised that he brought in a Don C 2:

"Compliance hit me like, 'How are you playing in these $3,000 unreleased shoes?' So that's the conversation I had to have the next day."

Don C himself praised Booker for bringing the shoes into the game:

"I remember I posted a photo. The next day, Don C commented right away, and [I have] always been a big fan of what he's done. So it was a special moment."

As it turned out, Devin Booker also wore the same pair of shoes when the Kentucky Wildcats faced the Wisconsin Badgers during the US NCAA Final Four in 2015.

However, lady luck did not shine on Kentucky as Wisconsin denied them of a perfect season in the national semifinals with a 71-64 win.

Devin Booker was already a fan of Kevin Durant's shoes way before teaming up

Way before he brought a Don C 2 to the game, Devin Booker was wearing Kevin Durant's signature shoes, especially when Booker got one colorway during Durant's basketball camp:

"[The Nike Zoom] KD4 was my shoe. [The] 'Scoring Title' was one of my favorites. I had the opportunity to go to the KD Elite Camp as a junior in high school, and at the Elite Camp is when they always give you the exclusive stuff, so the 'Scoring Titles,' the 'Weathermans.'"

Booker also said that he wore a Nike Zoom KD7 during his college days, and he added that Durant already knew about it now that they are teammates with the Suns.
