The Dallas Mavericks are reuniting with Spencer Dinwiddie for the 2024-25 NBA season. The veteran guard played with the Mavericks during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, helping complete a run to the 2022 Western Conference finals before the Golden State Warriors stopped them in five games.

He was traded to Toronto from Brooklyn earlier this year before he was waived and headed to Los Angeles to join the Lakers for the remainder of the season. Dinwiddie is returning to Dallas after agreeing to a one-year deal with the team.

"Devin Bookers uncle returns!!" one fan wrote.

One fan lamented that Spencer Dinwiddie would play well for the Mavericks, contrary to his performance with the Lakers.

"Watch dude end up playing good again, hate when that shit happens. Anyway please announce a Lakers trade 🙏🏽," another fan said.

"Solid pickup for Mavs," another fan said.

One fan dared to predict how far the Mavericks would go next season.

"Mavs are back to the Finals," one fan wrote.

The Mavericks add another backcourt reinforcement this offseason

Spencer Dinwiddie lands on a team that made intriguing moves this offseason. The Mavs made a big splash when they signed Klay Thompson from the Warriors and paired him with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Now they're adding more firepower to the roster with Dinwiddie, but some questions remain unanswered for the 2024 Western Conference champions.

The defense might be a notable issue for Dallas in past seasons, but they still have PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford on the roster. The additions of Thompson and Dinwiddie could make this team dangerous in the West.

In 76 games with the Mavericks, Dinwiddie averages 17.1 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.
