Did LeBron James' real phone number get leaked in a commercial?

Many thought that LeBron James' real phone number was shown in a commercial after he won a championship in 2013. However, there's an explanation behind it.

LeBron James' old Nike commercial encouraged fans to leave the superstar a message on his answering machine. After winning his second championship with the Miami Heat, Nike ran a campaign centered around James and his answering machine, receiving messages from the legends of the game.

The campaign was dedicated to James winning his second championship, and fans could dial the number 305-767-2226. Those who got a chance to do so were able to leave a message for King James. However, it hasn't been confirmed whether the star forward received the messages from his fans.

Overall, that number wasn't his personal number. Instead, Nike dedicated a series of digits solely to the campaign.

How good was LeBron James back in 2013?

LeBron James has been around the league since the 2003-04 season and has dominated since then. In his tenth season in the NBA, King James won his second title with the Heat. On top of that, James also won his fourth MVP, which is his second back-to-back MVP win.

James had an incredible season for the Heat. He was named an All-Star for the ninth straight season, leading the team to 66 wins and the first seed in the Eastern Conference standings. It was also the same season where Miami had their historic 27-game win streak, which lasted days.

LeBron averaged 26.8 points, 7.3 assists and eight rebounds throughout the 2012-13 season. The superstar also improved his efficiency, making 56.5% from the field and 40.6% from the three. This is also the only season where James has shot at least 40% from beyond the arc.

James was a problem for teams on both ends of the floor. He became a defensive nightmare, even almost winning the Defensive Player of the Year award. However, it was Marc Gasol who went home with the award, which led to fans saying LeBron was robbed of winning the award.
