Does Andrew Wiggins have a daughter? Exploring relationship between Warriors’ star forward and his children

Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors has missed more than a month for personal reasons. The Warriors organization has stressed his privacy and the need to respect whatever is going on in his life.

Wiggins has two daughters with his wife Mychal Johnson. In an interview with ENews in 2022, the Warriors forward spoke about his daughters, who at the time were 3 and 15 months old.

"Being a girl dad is the best," he said. "There's nothing like it. I've got two little princesses that I love unconditionally. Every day is just the best. You can go to work and not have the best day and come home and my daughters are just there waiting for me. They’re always happy, always in a good mood. I always feel so much love so they keep me going."

Johnson and Wiggins reportedly started dating in high school. Wiggins credited her for all that she's done to make his dream work while still taking care of their two daughters.

"She went to Notre Dame and played basketball, so she gets the sacrifice and everything that I gotta go through day to day," said Wiggins, who played one season at Kansas (2013-14) before becoming the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft. "But she's been amazing just being there raising our kids to the perfect children that they are today.

"A lot of respect goes to her because she makes stuff happen."

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that he "hoped" Andrew Wiggins would return this season but hasn't counted out that he might not. Given the length of this absence, the Warriors seem to be fully behind Wiggins. They've run an incredible organization throughout the past few seasons and have done everything professionally in this situation.

Wiggins has turned into the ultimate professional as he's regarded as one of the NBA's top defenders. He's also shown promise scoring throughout the past few seasons, knocking down the 3 ball at a 39.6% clip this season.

Wiggins was a major piece in the Warriors' championship run a season ago. It can even be argued that his defense was the reason the Dubs won the title.

He's a champion on the court, but Andrew Wiggins' daughters make him an even bigger champion off of it.
