Victor Wembanyama, one of the tallest players in the NBA at 7-foot-3, generated online buzz after a photo of veteran Golden State forward Draymond Green guarding him during the Spurs' 104-94 win on Saturday left fans in disbelief.
The photo captured Wembanyama towering over the 6-6 Green, whose head just barely reached the upper portion of the Spurs logo on his jersey. It was shared by the basketball page Legion Hoops.
The photo sparked widespread reactions, with one fan humorously suggesting that Draymond Green defending Victor Wembanyama so closely meant he was “cheating” on his long-time admiration for LA Lakers superstar LeBron James:

Fans also pointed out the stark height difference between Wembanyama and Green and noted how stoic the reigning Rookie of the Year appeared while being guarded by the former Defensive Player of the Year.
“Draymond looking like Kevin Hart here,” one fan wrote.
“This is insane lmao he making a 6’6 240 lb man look like a kid,” another fan stated.
“Gotta props to Draymond for always going up against bigger guys,” a fan wrote.
“Making someone who’s 6’7 look tiny,” another fan stated.
“Wemby is a chill guy,” a fan said.
“Crazy how this isn’t photoshopped,” another fan added.
Wemby averages 22.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists for a Spurs team that looks much improved from last season. Per NBA.com, he shares the title of the second-tallest player at 7-3 alongside the Phoenix Suns' Bol Bol. The tallest active player is Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey, standing at 7-4.
Victor Wembanyama leads Spurs to victory against Warriors
Victor Wembanyama made his return from a right knee contusion to lead the Spurs to a statement win over the Golden State Warriors. He recorded 25 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the game.
The Warriors, the top-seeded team in the Western Conference, left the Frost Bank Center stunned. It was a quiet night for Warriors star Steph Curry, who was limited to 14 points.
The Spurs who are still without long-serving coach Gregg Popovich, improved to 9-8 with the win, which ended the Dubs' two-game winning streak.
Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs travel to face the Utah Jazz next. The game is slated for Tuesday at the Delta Center.
