Draymond Green asks carry violation to be called consistently after Jordan Poole gets whistled thrice: "I love Kyle, I love Jimmy, but they're not, not carrying whole game"

Draymond Green reacts to a decision after Golden State Warriors v Miami Heat

Draymond Green wants the officiating to be consistent with discontinued dribbles, also known as carry violations, after teammate Jordan Poole got whistled thrice for it. It happened during the Golden State Warriors' 116-109 loss against the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Green said the referees should call on most players in the league as they carry the ball too.

"If you're gonna call that, you better call it. Cause' every point guard in the NBA carries, a lot," said Green (via 95.7 The Game).
"Some of the best ball handlers in the NBA carry often. So if it's a point of emphasis, then let's see it."

Draymond Green pondered on the Heat only getting one carry violation. He believes players like Kyle Lowry and Jimmy Butler carried the ball multiple times during the game but didn't get whistled for it.

"But I'm not sure I've seen three in one game on one guy. So if it's a point of emphasis then great, let's see it then... I love Kyle [Lowry], I love Jimmy [Butler], but they're not not carrying whole game, so we only got one I think."

The NBA has implemented plenty of changes regarding foul calls and violations since last season. Despite their best efforts to make the right calls, they haven't stayed consistent with the whistles.

Steve Kerr echoes Draymond Green's thoughts on Jordan Poole getting whistled for carrying the ball

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr sounded equally irked as Draymond Green when the referees called a carry violation on Jordan Poole on three separate occasions.

Kerr stated that the NBA had sent out emails on Tuesday morning about the refereeing changes regarding the carry violation.

Kerr echoed Draymond's thoughts on the matter. Kerr admitted Poole had been carrying the ball but stated that the whole league does it since Allen Iverson convinced referees that it wasn't a carry.

He also didn't seem pleased with the NBA sending emails on short notice.

"We got a game today. I'm not looking at emails," said Kerr (via Jason Dumas).
"I was shocked because basically the whole league does that. They've been doing it ever since Allen Iverson convinced the referees that it wasn't a carry."

Steve Kerr and Draymond Green pointed out that many guards and ball handlers in the league do it. Many would agree with his take, as it hasn't been called frequently in the last few years.

However, with Jordan Poole getting called out thrice in one game, it seems like the carry violation will likely get called out often going forward.
