Draymond Green attributes Phoenix Suns' loss to the team's unfamiliarity with Steph Curry's game

Draymond Green believes that the Golden State Warriors lost to the Phoenix Suns due to the lack of familiarity of the team’s youngsters with Stephen Curry.

Stephen Curry returned to the lineup after a long injury layoff, and the Warriors ended up losing despite being in good form recently. While Curry scored 24 points, Draymond Green believes that his presence was the reason the Warriors ended up losing. The veteran believes that the team’s youngsters are not used to the way Curry plays.

“When Steph is out we're totally different team. Steph and wiggs out we're an absolutely completely different team and then Andre out, you know some of these guys on this team what you have to realize has never played with Andre and so you're figuring those things out as well and so I think you know last night's loss was definitely somewhat of a byproduct of that.”

He added:

“Now in saying that it's no excuse to go lose at home to a Phoenix Suns team that's probably down four of their top five players it's no excuse to go lose that game but we did and we have to move forward but that was a shitty loss and can't do anything about it now got to go back and right the ship and we got to do it on the road.”

Golden State Warriors lose in Stephen Curry’s return game

Stephen Curry returned to the lineup after a layoff of 11 NBA games. Curry sustained a subluxation of his left shoulder on December 14th against the Indiana Pacers. Initially, the team had hoped for his return by this weekend, but after participating in two practices, he appeared to be ready to take to the court again on Tuesday.

Prior to his injury, Curry was having an outstanding season, averaging 30 points per game for the third time in his career and on pace for his second 50-40-90 shooting season. Despite the long layoff, Curry looked sharp, scoring 24 points and providing a much-needed boost for the Warriors.

The current season has been difficult, with the Warriors on the periphery of playoff contention. However, with Curry and Andrew Wiggins, the Golden State Warriors still have more than enough quality to beat any team in the NBA. The Warriors will not be taking too much heed of the loss against the Suns and will be looking to bounce back quickly.
