Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley took the basketball world by storm as a rookie last season. It seems as if it's only a matter of time before Mobley explodes into a superstar.

Mobley was selected with the third pick in the 2021 NBA draft. He spent one year in college playing for the USC Trojans. During that season, Mobley averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.

When Mobley was selected by the Cavaliers, the thought was that the talented forward wouldn't be rushed into action. Mobley was viewed by many as a raw talent who needed time to blossom. What the Cavaliers didn't expect, was that Mobley would be ready to hit the floor running.

It didn't take long before Mobley was viewed as a rising star. After finishing 22-50 the year before, Mobley was part of a massive turnaround for the Cavaliers, who finished 44-38. That record could have been more impressive if not for a string of injuries to the roster.

Mobley has cemented himself as one of the top young talents to monitor. If history tells us anything, it's that Mobley is on the right path towards becoming a superstar.

The uniqueness of Evan Mobley on the basketball court has made him such a special talent. Another young forward drew similar praise early on in his career. That forward was Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In his second year in the NBA, Antetokounmpo was a raw 20-year-old forward with the Bucks. When he was drafted 13th by the Bucks, Giannis was listed at 6-foot-9, 215 pounds.

During that 2014-15 season, Giannis averaged 12.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg and 1.0 bpg. After numerous offseasons working on his strength and development, Antetokounmpo blossomed into a star. After a growth spurt and adding nearly 30 pounds, Antetokounmpo became a force.

Just two seasons later, Giannis saw his stats jump to 22.9 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 5.4 assists per game. It resulted in him making his first All-Star team during the 2016-17 season.

Comparing that situation to Evan Mobley can bring some exciting hope for the future. Mobley is 7-foot, 215 pounds as of now. But his ability on the court offers some similar comparisons to Antetokounmpo.

Mobley has the size and length to be an impactful presence on the court. What makes him so unique is his fluidity at 7 feet. The Cleveland Cavaliers forward runs the floor effortlessly and moves like an athletic wing. If we are to look at Mobley's stats for the 2022-23 season, there's some hope for big things moving forward. He's averaging 15.0 ppg, 9.2 rpg and 1.5 bpg while shooting 56.4%.

When it comes to where both Mobley and Giannis were in their second NBA seasons, the Cavaliers forward has the edge. Time will tell if Mobley can continue to blossom into a dominant force.
