The former Mavericks guard claimed his team was still finding its footing in Brown’s system and adjusting to his approach on offense.

"Everything is new, so attention to detail is going to be key for us to get better faster. All the little things we pick up, and we learn, we can't just skip over that; we've got to really understand that those little things make a big difference. For us that's the most important thing," Brunson expressed.

The Knicks struggled offensively during the first half at Madison Square Garden. After scoring 20 points in the first quarter, the team was expected to perform better in the second quarter, but only managed 18 points. However, they managed to recover well in the second half, recording 52 points and forcing overtime, ultimately winning 100-95.

The Knicks were one of the best offensive teams last term, averaging 115.8 points per game. However, with Mike Brown known for his defensive acumen, their scoring average is expected to decline but scoring 38 points in a half is still concerning.

With talents like Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and Karl-Anthony Towns on the roster, the Knicks have the potential to be a strong scoring team, but they’ll need to find their rhythm in the weeks ahead.

While there’s still work to be done on offense, the fact that the team remains undefeated under Brown shows that his approach is already starting to make an impact.

During the post-game conference coach Mike Brown reflected on a "sloppy" first half.

" I thought first half, we were little sloppy with it (the ball)," Brown said (Timestamp: 0:14 onwards). "We did improve in the second half by taking better care of the basketball. We ended up with 23 assists for the game, which is pretty good. We didn’t shoot it well, but that’s okay. I thought we went through stretches."

Jalen Brunson was among those who struggled from the field as the guard shot 4-14, averaging 28.5%.
