Fans absolutely livid over LeBron James' complaints and hints to leave struggling LA Lakers - "Jordan never did this"

LA Lakers star forward LeBron James is still playing at a high level despite turning 38 on Friday.

He's averaging 27.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game on 49.8% shooting. However, his efforts have mostly been wasted as the Lakers’ injury-riddled poorly constructed roster has LA sitting at just 14-21 and 13th in the Western Conference.

That hasn’t dissuaded the star forward from his goal to win more championships, though. Following the Lakers’ 112-98 loss to Miami on Wednesday, James spoke about how he can still win more titles if surrounded by the right pieces.

"I don't wanna finish my career playing at this level from a team aspect. I still want to compete for championships. I know what I can bring to any ball club with the right pieces," James said.

James’ quote quickly went viral on NBA Twitter, with fans calling him out for his comments, and some even blaming him for the Lakers’ failures. On that note, here are some of the best fan reactions to LeBron James' complaints about the struggling LA Lakers.

As expected, fans were pretty harsh while responding to LeBron James’ quote, with many questioning his mental toughness.

“Jordan never did this,” one fan said as they contrasted James’ comments to the no-nonsense competitive nature of NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Others pointed out that James helped construct the current Lakers roster that he's now complaining about.

“N*gga u built the team and signed the extension now u trynna leave the mess u created lmao,” one fan said.
“Has been stealing players from other teams to play for him and still don't have the right pieces 🤦‍♂️,” another said.

Some also suggested that the problem with the Lakers' roster is LeBron James himself, as he is just stat padding without making a real winning impact.

“Bro doesn’t get HES NOT THE RIGHT PIECE 💀,” one fan said.
“He can stat pad all he wants he will never win a real ring 💀,” another fan added.
“It’s over old man. Even the decades of steroids couldn’t prevent Father Time. ‘BuT hEs aveRagiNg 30!’ Bro, he’s getting all these stats when his team is down 15-20. And teams HUNT him on defense. He put this team together. This is his fault. LeBron is a betta and always will be🖕🏼,” yet another added.

Other fans implied that the Lakers are so far away from contending for the title that James is better off just joining another team.

“That’s easy to say but who are the right pieces? Do they want to play with you? Can this team afford enough pieces?” one fan said.
“If LeBron wants to really get rings, take the Vet average, get all the pieces you need, get your 7th while in your 40s, GOAT. Without it, he's Top 4 at best, I give Curry the edge at 3,” another fan said.
“Give him Giannis, Luka, and Curry… and yeah, he can still win. Otherwise. it's missed playoffs again,” another added.

Despite all the harsh reactions, there were a few who pleaded for James to join their favorite teams.

“Please come to Milwaukee, we need you, king,” a Milwaukee Bucks fan said.
“LeBron, KD, Kyrie. Nets. That sounds like a championship team. @KingJames,” a Brooklyn Nets fan said.
“It’s time LeBron,” a Miami Heat fan captioned a picture of James alongside Heat stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
“Omg it’s happening,” a Toronto Raptors fan captioned a picture of James in a Raptors jersey.
“The right pieces‼️😤 @KingJames,” a New York Knicks fan captioned a picture of the Knicks’ top three players, Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett and Julius Randle.

It remains to be seen what direction the LA Lakers will go in, in regard to improving their roster. However, the Feb. 9 trade deadline is fast approaching, so the Lakers will have to make a move soon if they hope to save their season.
