One of the women in the lawsuits, Gloria Bell, gave birth when she was just 13 years old. Meanwhile, Malone was 20 and a sophomore in college at the time. Despite this sizable age gap, he never faced charges of statutory rape.

Karl Malone eventually went on to go pro and have a long career in the NBA. He was drafted 13th overall in 1985 by the Utah Jazz and went on to play 18 years for the franchise. Malone famously formed a duo with John Stockton, but they were never able to deliver a championship.

After spending nearly two decades with the Jazz, Malone switched teams in hopes of ending his career with a title. He joined the LA Lakers in 2004, who were led by the pairing of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. While their roster was loaded with talent, they went on to lose in the finals at the hands of the Detroit Pistons.

Malone ended his career with averages of 25.0 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists. His list of accolades includes being a 14-time All-Star, two-time MVP, two-time All-Star Game MVP and being named to 14 All-NBA teams.
