Brooklyn Nets point forward Ben Simmons put up a very unique stat line during the Nets’ 109-98 loss to Boston on Thursday night. Simmons finished with a near double-double with nine rebounds and a season-high 13 assists to go along with two steals and one block. However, he failed to score a single point in the game as Brooklyn struggled offensively without superstar forward Kevin Durant.

Simmons’ performance led to harsh criticism from fans who called him out for his lack of aggression offensively. This came as Simmons only attempted three shots in 26 minutes of action.

“Bro is washed at the age of 26,” one fan said.
“Bro doesn’t even look at the rim anymore,” another said.

Here are some of the other harshest reactions to Ben Simmons’ 0-point game.

Outside of just his lackluster offensive performance, some fans also pointed out how overpaid Simmons is. This comes as Simmons is making $35.4 million this season and a guaranteed $113.7 million by the end of 2025.

Others then started comparing Simmons to other offensively challenged star players such as Dennis Rodman, Draymond Green and Rajon Rondo.

However, there were still a few fans who defended Simmons, insisting that he played well in the game. Others argued that he has been fulfilling his role as an elite role player.

Following the Nets’ loss to Boston, Ben Simmons didn't talk much about his own struggles. However, he did touch on how much of a challenge it is to face the top team in the NBA.

“You want to play the best team and the way they play, they’re very together defensively and offensively,” Simmons said.
“They have some great individuals, but when you put it together they play team basketball,” Simmons continued.
