LA Lakers star forward LeBron James put up a game-high 46 points and a career-high nine 3-pointers on Tuesday night versus the LA Clippers. However, his efforts went in vain as the Lakers got blown out 133-115.

James was visibly frustrated during the loss. Late in the fourth quarter, he was spotted sitting on the Lakers' bench and staring hopelessly in disappointment.

This of course got James' haters going as they used the clip as fuel to troll the 38-year-old star.

Following his 46-point performance versus the Clippers, LeBron James spoke about how he did everything he could to keep the Lakers in the game.

However, he then noted that the Lakers just couldn’t contain the Clippers’ hot shooting. The Clippers shot a blistering 19-for-38 (50.0%) from three.

“I was able to make a few shots tonight and try to help us stay in the game,” James said.
“But the Clippers, they are really good. Exceptionally good when they’re shooting the 3-ball, and tonight they did that,” James continued.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham also echoed a similar sentiment. Ham explained that the Clippers were just taking and making tough shots all game.

“We were forcing them into really tough shots, and they were just making them,” Ham said.
“Against a great team like that, you've got to play damn near perfect to overcome that deficit,” Ham continued.

Meanwhile, Clippers coach Tyronn Lue touched on how the Clippers were able to withstand LeBron James’ big night. Lue said they did so by forcing James to try and take over by himself.

“(James) had a great shooting game, but we weathered the storm,” Lue said.
“When they cut the lead to 10 and LeBron is on fire like that ... we just tried to take everyone else out and make him go one-on-one,” Lue added.

Following the loss, the Lakers are now just 22-26 and 13th in the Western Conference. This comes despite LeBron James now averaging 30.2 points per game, the third-highest scoring mark of his career.

Luckily for James and the Lakers, they won’t have to wait long to try and redeem themselves though. LA will face San Antonio at home on Wednesday night in the second game of a back-to-back. The Spurs (14-33, 14th in the West) should prove to be a much easier opponent than the Clippers (26-24, fifth in the West).
