A massive brawl broke out in the third quarter of the Orlando Magic vs Minnesota Timberwolves game on Friday night at the Target Center. Five players were ejected in the aftermath of the fight, with the Magic earning a 127-120 win.
It's the second melee in a row in as many days in the NBA following the Donovan Mitchell-Dillon Brooks fiasco on Thursday. Mo Bamba of the Magic and Austin Rivers of the Timberwolves threw punches, which could result in hefty fines and suspensions.
So, how long will the players involved in the fight be suspended? According to the NBA rule book, a fine not exceeding $50,000 and/or a one-game suspension could be imposed on players involved in a brawl. The league could also further investigate the incident, hand additional fines or even extend the suspension.
This is not the first incident involving the Orlando Magic this season. They were involved in a melee with the Detroit Pistons last December. A total of 11 players were suspended, eight from the Magic and three from the Pistons.
Killian Hayes of the Pistons was suspended for three games after throwing a punch at Moritz Wagner of the Magic. Austin Rivers and Mo Bamba could be looking at a three-game suspension depending on the NBA's investigation and final ruling.
