Former NBA champion lauds Golden State Warriors for dominating Celtics in home win: “Reminding my big dumb a** that’s it’s LEVELS to the s**t”

Kendrick Perkins had to eat his words again after the Golden State Warriors dominated his former team, the Boston Celtics, in their finals rematch on Saturday. The Warriors recorded a 123-107 blowout win at home, becoming the first Western Conference team to beat the Celtics this season.

Perkins has been big on the Celtics this year. He has done so while being one of the Warriors' harshest critics. Boston has been the best team this season with a league-best 21-6 record, while Golden State has hovered around the .500 mark with a 14-13 record.

However, the Warriors came out on top in their first game of the season against their finals opponents. Perkins gave Steph Curry and Co. their flowers, tweeting:

Kendrick Perkins counted the Golden State Warriors out of contention after their 2019 finals loss. He believed they would never win another chip with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green as their core.

However, the Warriors shut down his criticism last season by beating the odds to win their fourth chip in eight years, trumping the Celtics 4-2. Boston entered that series and Saturday's finals rematch as the heavy favorites but couldn't prevail on either occasion.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson reminded everyone that they are still unbeatable on their day. They outclassed Boston Celtics' young duo Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to lead the Golden State Warriors to a surprise win over the 17-time champions on Saturday night.

Thompson had 34 points on 53.8% shooting (four triples), and Curry tallied 32 points on 57.1% shooting (six triples) to lead the Dubs to a 123-107 win. Meanwhile, Brown waged a lone battle for Boston. He scored 31 points on 56.5% shooting. However, his co-star Tatum couldn't continue his fine form as he produced only 18 points on a dismal 6 of 21 shooting.

The Golden State Warriors will be glad to see Thompson rediscovering his magic with every game. He is crucial to their hopes of winning against top teams like the Boston Celtics and bolstering their chances of winning back-to-back championships.

The 5x All-Star was also solid on the defensive end of the floor, which is something to keep an eye on moving forward. If he can come close to replicating the two-way ability he had before his injury in the 2019 finals, the Warriors could get back on track and consistently start winning at a high level.
