NBA veteran Patrick Beverley might return to Europe after over a decade of playing in the NBA. Following two four-year stints with the Houston Rockets (2013-2017) and LA Clippers (2017-2021), Beverley couldn't find a permanent home in the NBA, sharing stints between several teams without establishing himself.
After his time with the Milwaukee Bucks last season, Beverley is once again a free agent. With most NBA teams pretty much set on their rosters for the upcoming season, Beverley admitted through his podcast that he has two options: signing for an NBA veteran minimum deal or securing a 'historic' contract to go play in Europe again.

Moreover, according to EuroLeague analyst Thanos Tsibos, Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League is interested in acquiring Patrick Beverley's services. Tsibos notes that if agreed, this deal would allow Beverley to reunite with former coach Stefanos Dedas, whom he worked with on Spartak St. Petersburg at the start of the 2010s.
Since he was traded by the Clippers in 2021, Beverley has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, LA Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks. None of these teams became Beverley's new home in the league, leading to his current situation.
Patrick Beverley has experience playing in Europe
Contrary to many NBA players who normally go from the association to European basketball, Patrick Beverley's journey has gone the opposite way. When he was 20 and with a child, he agreed to join the Ukraine team Dnipro, where he dominated the competition, playing in the All-Star Game and winning the Slam Dunk Contest.
He then joined a European giant Olympiacos after being drafted 42nd overall in the 2009 NBA draft by the Lakers and then traded to the Miami Heat. The Floridians cut him shortly after, which opened the door for the Greek team to sign Beverley. With Olympiacos, he won the 2010 Greek Cup while playing in the EuroLeague and Greek League.
His last European experience was in St. Petersburg after joining Spartak in January 2011. He became the EuroCup MVP in 2012 after leading the team to the semis with a 13-3 record. He left the team on December 23 of the same year to join the Houston Rockets.
Initially, he was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, but once he got the hang of the NBA, Patrick Beverley stayed there for over a decade.
