Giannis Antetokounmpo’s recent partnership with Epic Games and Fortnite led to accusations of him copying the dance by actor Michael Blackson.

Blackson, a Ghanian actor and comedian, was born in Ghana and spent his early years in multiple African countries. He eventually moved to the United States in the 1980s and has appeared in multiple movies and TV series. Blackson has also appeared in multiple notable TV series including an episode of ’30 Rock.’

Giannis Antetokounmpo recently partnered with Fortnite and also had his own emote released. However, one of the dance steps used appears to belong to Michael Blackson.

The rapper joked in an interview with Revolt that he would “smack” Giannis in order to handle the situation in person:

“Probably smack the s**t out of him. No, I’m just playing, man. That n***a seven feet tall, I’ll go online and beat the s**t out of him.”

Of course, Blackson was merely joking and conceded that the Milwaukee Bucks’ star might prove to be a bit too big for him!

Michael Blackson also claimed that he did not have any real issues with the dance. The actor said that he didn’t believe it was possible to copyright the dance. However, it was a matter of showing respect and loyalty to the person who had originally created the dance. In this sense, Blackson seemed to be genuinely accusing the former NBA champion of stealing the dance.

“I don’t think you can copyright a dance, but it’s a matter of loyalty and showing respect to the person you got the dance from. Next thing I know, my s**t is on Fortnite… I DMed him; I don’t have his number, but I texted his brother because he gave me his number today.”

Of course, considering the incident only recently in December 2022, Giannis might have had other things on the planet. The NBA star did not respond to Blackson’s texts, leading to the following reaction:

“I texted, you know I kept it real nice… ‘Hey man, just hit me up. I saw my dance on there. I appreciate the dance, but mothersucker, what’s going on?’ He just ignored it. He read it and ignored it.”

Needless to say, the 2-time NBA MVP winner might have simply been too busy to respond to the accusation. He can be forgiven especially considering the fact that no legal consequences are possible in this case.
