LeBron James has just tied Jason Kidd for the fourth-most triple-double in NBA history. The four-time MVP tallied 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists against the hapless Houston Rockets. James and Kidd have 107 triple-doubles, trailing only Magic Johnson (138), Oscar Robertson (181) and former Laker Russell Westbrook (198).

Not many were impressed with James’ feat, though, as some fans trolled him on Twitter:

"Greatest Stat Padder of all time"

This is James' second triple-double of the season. His first was on Jan. 31 against the New York Knicks when he had 28 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. He had six during the 2021-22 season.

The LA Lakers superstar also has 28 triple-doubles in the postseason, the second-most behind Magic Johnson's 30. Russell Westbrook has 12 while Jason Kidd has 11 in the playoffs.

LeBron James could have had more points tonight had he been more efficient with his shots. He was 8-18 from the field but was only 1-7 from behind the arc.

More importantly, the Lakers won against the Rockets and moved two games above .500 for the first time this season. They now hold a 40-38 record, putting them in the 7th place. James' team is now just half a game behind the LA Clippers (41-38) for the sixth seed and outright postseason berth.

LeBron James has struggled scoring since his return from a foot injury

"King James" is averaging just 20.0 points per game since returning from a right foot injury.
"King James" is averaging just 20.0 points per game since returning from a right foot injury.

After a 13-game absence due to a right foot injury, LeBron James has struggled scoring for the LA Lakers. He is averaging 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in his last four games.

James is also hitting 46.3% of his shots, including 20.0% from long range. The 19x NBA All-Star is just 3-15 from deep. Opponents are daring him to shoot the ball as he hasn't made an impact from deep.

The Houston Rockets clogged the lane tonight in trying to prevent Anthony Davis from dominating. AD still overwhelmed them with 40 points, but it was glaring how Houston's defenders sagged off James when he was outside the arc.

Fortunately, James has been contributing in different areas of the game, especially with his rebounding and playmaking. He still reads defenses like no other and his passing is as elite as ever.

"King James" may not have to score as much, particularly with the way Anthony Davis has been playing. The Lakers are also deeper, with more weapons around their superstars.

LeBron James' struggles scoring, however, will be something worth watching. He might still not be 100% healthy with his right foot. A compromised James is better than no James, but opponents will take careful note of this and attack him more to test that ankle.
