Blake Griffin is reportedly in the sights of networks covering the NBA next season. Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports said that Amazon Prime Video could go after the former six-time All-Star. Griffin’s role remains uncertain but he could be the Jeff Bezos-owned company’s version of TNT’s Charles Barkley.

Blake Griffin hasn’t appeared on TV as a basketball analyst but has gained a solid following due to his superb comedic work. The debut of Griffin’s Laugh Factory in 2014 and his appearance in Comedy Central’s “The Roast of Alec Baldwin” were slam dunks. Fans are excited to see him on TV more regardless of which network hires him.

Blake Griffin had a solid 13-year career in the NBA

Before potentially becoming a basketball analyst, Blake Griffin was one of the NBA’s biggest stars. He was the No. 1 pick in 2009 but sat out his first year due to injury. Griffin eventually played the following year and won the Rookie of the Year Award.

The high-flying forward was an All-Star in his first five seasons in the pros and earned All-NBA honors in four of those years. Together with Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, they made the LA Clippers the “Lob City” in the NBA.

A few nagging injuries and playoff failures forced the Clippers to trade Griffin to the Detroit Pistons, where he reinvented his game. No longer the ultra-athletic player he once was, he developed an outside shot to be effective. Griffin returned to the All-Star Game and All-NBA team for the final time in 2019.
