"He’s definitely making magic right now for sure"- LeBron James praises Anthony Davis after another dominant performance against the Rockets

Los Angeles Lakers v Washington Wizards
LeBron James and Anthony Davis carried the LA Lakers to a big win over the Houston Rockets.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the LA Lakers to a resounding 134-109 win over the Houston Rockets. AD had a game-high 40 points while James finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

After the game, the 19x All-Star had this to say about their performance:

“It’s great to be available to each other. I hate when I’m sidelined and he’s playing and I think it’s vice-versa when he’s sidelined and I’m playing. We came in together because we want be on the floor together and make magic. He’s definitely making magic right now, for sure.”

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have only played 32 games together this season. The Lakers have an unexpectedly dismal 17-15 record when they are both available.

James has played just 50 games this season due to an assortment of injuries. He was recently sidelined for 13 games after injuring his right foot against the Dallas Mavericks on Mar. 17. The four-time MVP returned to the lineup on Mar. 26 versus the Chicago Bulls.

Anthony Davis, on the other hand, has played 51 games. AD also suffered a right foot injury in December against the Denver Nuggets. He missed 20 games due to a stress fracture in his right foot.

Davis hasn’t been cleared to play in back-to-back games as well. The LA Lakers will take on the Utah Jazz on Tuesday and then the LA Clippers on Wednesday. As crucial as these games are, it remains doubtful if AD will be allowed to play in both of them.

When both are available, they are expected to share the burden of carrying the Lakers to at least the play-in tournament.

LeBron James also credits Rui Hachimura for another solid game

LeBron James noted Rui Hachimura's big game as crucial for their win tonight.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis were the leaders of tonight’s win by the LA Lakers, but the four-time champ also credited Rui Hachimura.

“Game ball definitely goes to Rui [Hachimura], for sure. He was all over the floor not only offensively but defensively. Big time, a couple of big-time blocks, rebounding out of his position. … He’s a rhythm player and when he knows he’s going to play significant amount of minutes off the bench, I think he can be really really good for us.
"We look for him. We know what he’s capable of. Tonight he was very assertive, that's why we went to him more and more.”

Hachimura played 25 minutes in another starring role off the bench. He had 20 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and one assist. The frontline of Anthony Davis, James and Hachimura gave the Houston Rockets problems all night.

If the former Washington Wizards forward sustains this form, the LA Lakers will be even tougher to eliminate.

Rui Hachimura is averaging 9.0 points and 4.4 rebounds in 28 games with the Lakers.
