On Tuesday night, LeBron James and the LA Lakers found themselves in an OT thriller with the Utah Jazz. After coughing up a lead in the final minutes, an extra period was needed to decide a winner.

The Lakers were able to squeak out a two-point win in overtime, in large part because of LeBron James. He completely took over in the final five minutes to make sure his team came away victorious.

In the OT period, LeBron scored nine of the Lakers' 11 points. He did so on 3-for-f shooting from the floor, and was perfect from the free-throw line. His nine points matched what the Jazz scored as a team in the extra period.

During a recent episode of FS1's "Undisputed," Skip Bayless praised the LA Lakers star for stepping up in OT and getting the job done for his team.

"I was extremely impressed with LeBron in overtime because he did suck it up, he played all five minutes of overtime and he redeemed himself in big ways that will count down the stretch. I thought it was crucial for his own psyche."

LeBron James continues to lead LA Lakers up the standings

With this win, LeBron James and the LA Lakers are riding high on a four-game win streak. This recent stretch has allowed them to slowly make their way up the air-tight Western Conference standings.

After spending most of the season towards the bottom of the West, the Lakers are right in the middle of the playoff picture. If they can stay hot to close out the season, they might secure a top-six seed and avoid the play-in tournament.

This run would not have been possible if not for the play of LeBron and Anthony Davis. The star duo has been phenomenal on the court as they lead the charge for the team.

Since returning from injury, LeBron is averaging 23.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists. In that same stretch, AD is posting averages of 30.4 points and 11.6 rebounds. They are once again proving why they should be viewed as one of the top duos in the league when healthy.

Following their OT matchup with the Jazz, the Lakers now have a quick turnaround. Next up on the schedule is a meeting with the LA Clippers on the second leg of a back-to-back. A win in that game would mean climbing all the way up to sixth place.
