Mase delivers wild take on Andrew Wiggins return

Golden State Warriors fans have been waiting months for an Andrew Wiggins return, but it still appears nowhere in sight. This has some comparing the situation to a previous long absence from one of the team's core players.

After being named an All-Star last year, Andrew Wiggins has only appeared in 37 games this season. The former No. 1 pick has been out of action since February 14th with what has only been described as personal reasons.

With the saga dragging on for so long, hip-hop artist Mase recently went on a social media rant. He brought up the injury woes of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, and jokingly compared Wiggins to them.

"I know how long it took KD to recover after he tore his achillies, and I saw how long it took Klay Thompson to recover after he tore his meniscus, but how long is it gonna take Andrew Wiggins to recover from a broken heart?"

Mase's comment is in regards to the rumor that Wiggins has been out due to an infidelity scandal involving his wife and best friend. While this has made its way around social media, it has not been confirmed as the actual reason.

Before stepping away from the team, Wiggins was averaging 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Will we see Andrew Wiggins return this season?

As of now, there have been no real updates regarding a possible Wiggins return. One Reddit user thought they cracked the case, but it did not prove to be accurate.

The Golden State Warriors have supported Wiggins through this entire ordeal, and hold out hope that he can play again this year. During a recent interview, head coach Steve Kerr spoke on a possible return. While he said it should remain indefinite, he still believes Wiggins could be back with the team at some point.

"There's hope, but I guess it's indefinite. That's also appropriate because we really don't know."

With just a handful of games to go in the regular season, Kerr and the Warriors have not discussed shutting Wiggins down for the year yet.

As the regular season comes to a close, the Warriors are still battling for playoff position. They are currently in sixth place with a record of 40-37. That being said, the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and LA Lakers are all within a game and a half of them. Getting Wiggins back at any point could be a huge jolt for Golden State as they prepare to defend their title.
