Luka Doncic is having his best season so far, he started the season scoring 30+ points in eight straight games. The only other player to ever do it was Wilt Chamberlain. It's impressive how Doncic has already joined one of the NBA's greatest players of all time at the young age of 23. Consistently scoring 30 points and above is no easy feat in today's league.

With that in mind, how exactly did Luka Doncic prepare for the 2022-23 season? According to The Dallas Morning News, Doncic gave Slovenian trainer Anze Macek a call after the Western Conference Finals concluded last post-season. The Mavericks superstar wanted to stay in shape and come back better following their WCF exit after losing to the Golden State Warriors.

During Slovenia's EuroBasket matches, Macek sat down with The Dallas Morning News in Cologne, Germany to discuss Doncic's summer training regimen. The Mavericks star underwent a well-rounded program of rest, endurance, strength conditioning, basketball, and competitiveness.

Individual sessions were held to work on lower body injury rehabilitation before the Slovenian team began training in mid-June. After Doncic's ankle and calf issues derailed last season, namely on his left leg.

Macek also added endurance workouts specified for basketball, as well as core and stability exercises. The Mavericks later asked Doncic to take a break from training sometime in July.

They resumed their training come August in preparation for Doncic's upcoming EuroBasket games. To sum things up, he basically did two types of training. Luka Doncic had specialized sessions with Anze Macek for several months. He later treated the EuroBasket games as a training field to apply everything he's acquired from his trainer.

Luka Doncic has had non-stop intense training over the summer while playing for his national team. It's no wonder he's all warmed up for the 2022-23 NBA season.

After witnessing how Luka Doncic has been performing this season, it's safe to say that he could probably win the 2023 MVP award. Doncic was off to a hot start in the season having scored 30+ points in eight straight games. His recent accomplishments allowed him to join Wilt Chamberlain for an all-time record of the most 30-point games in consecutive games to start the season.

Doncic, as of November 15, is averaging 34.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.1 steals. He is currently the league leader in points and is undoubtedly carrying the Dallas Mavericks once again. His best game by far was when the Mavs went up against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 12. Doncic had a triple-double, having 42 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Mavs superstar had another impressive night, saving Dallas from falling to the LA Clippers on Tuesday night. The Clippers nearly won the game due to their second-half resurgence. However, Luka Doncic channeled his MVP mode and saved the day. Doncic knocked down a clutch 3-point shot in the fourth quarter to win the game. He had 35 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

If Doncic continues to play the way he does this season, then it's likely that he'll be crowned the 2023 Season MVP.
