Tyrese Haliburton has engineered Indiana Pacers’ come-from-behind wins

Before Game 3 of the first-round series between the Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks, Tyrese Haliburton grabbed the spotlight for the wrong reason. Haliburton was named The Most Overrated Player in the NBA in an anonymous poll by The Athletic.

Since that survey came out, Haliburton has been on a tear in the playoffs, leading his team against adversity. The Pacers have won three games when trailing by seven or more points in the last minute. They are the unquestioned comeback kings of the 2025 NBA playoffs behind their franchise cornerstone.

Game 5 against the Bucks, Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Game 1 in the NBA Finals were particularly historic for Haliburton. He is the only player with three game-winning shots in one playoff run since play-by-play started in 1996-1997, according to OptaStats' Greg Harvey.

The OKC Thunder remain heavy favorites, but with Tyrese Haliburton leading the Indiana Pacers, the NBA Finals could be much more competitive than many anticipated.
