"I personally know people that were scared of LeBron James" - Draymond Green counters Mario Chalmers' 'nobody fears Bron' statement 

Mario Chalmers recently dissed LeBron James by saying nobody in the league fears him, and the comment has faced a lot of scrutiny. Many players are clowning Chalmers for his remarks, including Tristan Thompson and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

Chalmers isn't some random player taking a shot at James. In that case, the statement would have probably been dismissed and not taken seriously. He was, in fact, his teammate back when King James played in South Beach. Hence, his comments have generated a lot of controversy.

Draymond Green, a longtime LeBron fan and his business partner, suggested that the remark was abhorrent. He dismissed it entirely and claimed that Chalmers was just point-blank lying. On his podcast, "Draymond Green Show," Green spoke with NBA champion Tristan Thompson and said:

"I disagree with Mario's statement … It's your teammate. That's the guy you went to war with. That's the guy you won championships with. … On the flip side like, bro, I personally know people that were scared of LeBron James, so I all out just disagree.

"I know a bunch of people that were and still are, in fact, terrified of LeBron James. Like, I've seen it. At times, I've had teammates that was terrified of LeBron James, and so I just didn't really understand the statement."

On the Playmaker podcast, Mario Chalmers spoke about opponents not fearing LeBron James like peers of Michael Jordan feared MJ. Fans and players immediately responded to Chalmers for his take about one of the most decorated athletes of all time and one who got him rings. Chalmers was a role player averaging 9 points per game while James was a multiple-time league MVP.

Chalmers was in and out of the league in nine years without any major accomplishments, whereas James is arguably the greatest of all time.

It is no surprise people haven't taken his words too well and have started dismissing anything that Chalmers says.

When Draymond Green brought up Mario Chalmers' remark, Tristan Thompson defended James:

"That sh*t pisses me off, bro. That sh*t pisses me off. … Mario Chalmers, at one point, you were probably texting LeBron to get on the team and get a job. So, he couldn't get you a job or get you on a team, and I'm just assuming, I'm not saying that's what it is … just because you might not have got your way, how can you say that about a guy that you went to war with, who believed in you?

"There was times where D-Wade (Dwyane Wade) was on your ass chewing you up, Chris Bosh chewing your ass, but Bron would always push Mario to be better, talk great about him to the media, said all these great things about you, and then you're gonna come and say no one fears LeBron? … Guys be on some sucker sh*t."

Additionally, Thompson said that if there was any version of LeBron James that was the scariest, it was when he played with the Miami Heat.

King James was at the peak of his powers in Miami, winning his third and fourth NBA MVP awards, two Finals MVPs and two championships and breaking records after records. This was arguably the most unstoppable version of James.

"Like, this is the best player you've ever been on the court with," Thompson said. "How are you gonna say that no one – First of all, Miami LeBron is the most scariest LeBron we've ever seen in our life. That Bron was like 290 (pounds) running a 4-4 and jumping over John Lucas and stuff. That was athleticism at a whole other level. – like, how can you say that?"

LeBron James is set to return to the court before the end of the regular season. If the LA Lakers make it into the play-in tournament, we can expect King James to lace up for the final few games.
