In the second phase of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, India faced Qatar and Kazakhstan in their games at home in Chennai. Coming into this phase, India ranked 20th in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers Window 1 and had lost both their games as well.
They suffered a 63-50 defeat to Kazakhstan before crashing to another heavy defeat (86-53) against Iran in Group E. While they lost against Qatar in the second phase, a solid victory against Kazakhstan not only gave them their first win but also helped them make a significant jump in the rankings.

In the second phase of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, India played both its matches at home against Qatar and Kazakhstan.
