The Indiana Pacers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-105 in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Tuesday at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The Pacers won the series 4-1 and advanced to the conference finals.

Tyrese Haliburton led Indiana with 31 points, eight assists and six rebounds on 10-for-15 shooting, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range. Pascal Siakam had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists on 8-for-20 shooting, including 2-for-5 on 3-pointers.

Andrew Nembhard finished with 18 points and six assists on 7-for-11 shooting (3-for-6 from beyond the arc). Aaron Nesmith added 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Myles Turner had 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.

Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland with 35 points, nine rebounds and four steals on 8-for-25 shooting (4-for-13 from the 3-point line). He also went 15-for-21 from the charity stripe. Evan Mobley finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds on 8-for-12 shooting.

De'Andre Hunter contributed 12 points and five rebounds on 5-for-12 shooting (2-for-4 from downtown) off the bench, while Darius Garland added 11 points and four rebounds on 4-for-16 shooting (0-for-6 on 3-pointers).

The Pacers advanced to the conference finals for the second straight year, while the No. 1-seeded Cavaliers were eliminated. Last season, Indiana lost to the eventual champions, the Boston Celtics, in four games.

Indiana awaits the winner of the other East second-round series between the Celtics and the New York Knicks. The Knicks lead 3-1, with Game 5 scheduled on Wednesday.

Indiana Pacers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game summary

At the end of the first quarter, the Cleveland Cavaliers had a 31-19 lead over the Indiana Pacers. Donovan Mitchell scored 13 points for the Cavaliers, while Evan Mobley added 10.

Cleveland increased its lead to 19 in the second quarter (44-25). However, Indiana trimmed the lead to four (56-52) heading into the halftime break. The Pacers outscored the Cavaliers 33-25 in the period. Mitchell led the Cavs with 16 points and four rebounds in the first half, while Mobley had 14 points and four boards.

Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers, scoring 15 of his 17 points in the second quarter on 5-for-6 from the 3-point line. Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard each scored nine points.

Indiana dominated the third quarter 33-20 to take an 85-76 lead entering the final period. Cleveland tried to battle back, but Myles Turner's corner 3-point shot put the Pacers up nine (14-105) with 23.2 seconds remaining. Indiana held on for the win and eliminated the East's top seed.
