Anthony Davis is listed as probable on the LA Lakers' injury report for a marquee Emirates NBA Cup showdown against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. This season, Davis has regularly been listed as day-to-day with various injuries, with left plantar fasciitis being the latest. He will be assessed ahead of the clash to determine whether or not he can be involved.

Despite injury, Davis has suited up for 15 out of 16 games for the Lakers this season, missing just one game against the Golden State Warriors.

By his own standards, the nine-time All-Star went through a rough patch of form that saw the Lakers suffer back-to-back defeats at home. In the loss to the Magic, Davis missed two free throws in the final seconds costing the Lakers. In the following game against the Nuggets, he was non-existent, scoring 14 points, three assists and 10 rebounds.

This will be the third time the Lakers and the Suns meet this season. Both have won once.

What to expect from Anthony Davis vs. Phoenix Suns

With Anthony Davis on the receiving end of losses in the last two games, there’s pressure on him to turn the tides. Tuesday's game against the Suns is a great chance to do so.

Davis needs to bring his A-game to the table as he’ll be facing the likes of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, who are set to return to the starting lineup following a week-long absence on the treatment table.

The Suns risk a lot with their style of play but they also reap the rewards of that. It will be interesting to see how this battle envelopes.
