As the 2023 NCAA Tournament continues, Alabama's Brandon Miller has continued to make headlines. Given the controversy surrounding him prior to the tournament, Miller's play on the court has only told half the story. While he managed to avoid charges in the case, many have questioned his eligibility.

The way many see things, however, regardless of how Alabama handles things, Miller is poised to be drafted as a top pick in the 2023 NBA draft. With that in mind, let's take a look at how things may play out for Brandon Miller in the NBA Mock Draft 2023.

Currently, the Bleacher Report mock draft has the Detroit Pistons landing the No. 1 pick. The Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs are expected to round out the top three. When the draft lottery takes place on May 16, the draft order may change, but there's one thing that likely won't, the No. 1 pick.

Throughout the course of the season, Victor Wembanyama has continued to prove that he's not just the most promising prospect in the draft, but also the decade. With Wembanyama likely going first, and Scoot Henderson poised to go second, the expectation is Miller goes third.

After taking a look at the Detroit Pistons depth chart, it's clear that the scoring ability Miller brings would be a massive help to the rebuilding franchise. Currently, it's veteran Bojan Bogdanovic who starts in the small forward position for the team. While he recently signed a two-year extension, Miller could push the vet into a sixth-man role.

While many have continued to look at Brandon Miller as the presumptive third pick in the upcoming draft, his recent play has improved his stock. That, combined with an underwhelming performance by Scoot Henderson in the Rising Stars Challenge, has many wondering if he will jump up to the No. 2 spot.

His play this season has shown that despite the controversy surrounding him off the court, he can continue to produce when it matters. On Saturday afternoon at 6:40 PM Pacific Time, 9:40 PM Eastern Time, Miller and the Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the Maryland Terrapins.

After struggling in the team's opening-round showdown, there were questions about a groin injury he sustained the previous weekend. Following a scoreless first-round matchup, head coach Nate Oats revealed that he would likely be good to go for their next showdown.

Oats spoke to media members after the win, as quoted by 247Sports:

“He's getting treatment already this morning. He got it last night. He's going to get a lot more this afternoon. We're holding him out of anything live in practice today, not that we're doing a whole lot of live stuff with the game yesterday and one tomorrow. He'll shoot and do some non-live stuff."

With plenty of upside to Miller on the court, it seems as though regardless of what team drafts him, he's poised to go top three in the upcoming draft.
