The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the red-hot Milwaukee Bucks later today.

Their main player, Joel Embiid, has been on a rampage this season, despite missing a number of games through injury issues. He is currently averaging 33 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Embiid is also a frontrunner for the defensive player of the year award and is therefore crucial to any title charge that the 76ers can muster this season.

Fresh off a loss against the Dallas Mavericks with their new duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, he will be itching to produce a big performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. The two teams, along with the Boston Celtics, have emerged as the top seeds in the Eastern Conference this season.

Embiid, who recently missed a game due to a foot injury, had 35 points and 8 rebounds against the Mavericks. He was unlucky not to see his long-range shot being counted at the end of the fourth quarter, which would have tied the game.

Joel Embiid is not part of the latest injury report released by Phialdelphia 76ers and is expected to suit up against the Milwaukee Bucks as well.

Joel Embiid to confirm MVP credentials in coming weeks?

Joel Embiid has been playing incredibly well this season. He has been the best center in the league along with Nikola Jokic and is a major contender for the MVP award. Still, with James Harden to support him, the Philadelphia 76ers will be more concerned about producing a deep playoff run this season.

The Milwaukee Bucks have in Giannis Antetokounmpo, a player who also has strong MVP credentials. He is arguably the best two-way player in the league this season, although Joel Embiid is not that far behind. The Bucks are currently on a 16-game winning streak.

The Philadelphia 76ers on the other hand, have struggled slightly in their last 10 games with a record of 6-4. To stop the the team's momentum, Joel's presence on the court will be crucial.

Only Dewayne Dedmon finds himself on the injury list for the 76ers. For the Bucks, Khris Middleton is also a doubtful. This matchup could also prove to be a preview of an Eastern Conference showdown in the playoffs later in the season. Needless to say, all signs point to it being a cracker.
