Kevin Durant hasn't played since March 5 and many fans are wondering if he will play tonight. The Phoenix Suns forward has dealt with ankle issues this season, which is why he's appeared in only three games for his new team.
Unfortunately for the Suns, it doesn't appear that the 13-time All-Star is ready to return yet. His injury is rather serious and the team doesn't want to rush his return.
Considering that Durant is a game-changer, he could easily help Phoenix win a few more games and move up in the standings. However, he will not be playing tonight in an important matchup.

Kevin Durant is not playing tonight against Philadelphia
Kevin Durant will miss his ninth straight game on Saturday night. He last played against the Dallas Mavericks on March 5, scoring 37 points on 12-for-17 shooting and grabbing seven rebounds.
Durant showed the Suns how good he can be. However, he has been sidelined with an ankle injury ever since his amazing performance against the Mavs. Due to this, the team won't be able to count on him against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 76ers will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back, which is what drastically benefits the Suns. Philadelphia played against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night, but lost the game despite Joel Embiid's 46-point performance.

The Phoenix Suns are fifth in the Western Conference with a 38-35 record. They are only 0.5 games behind the LA Clippers (39-35), but their lead over the 11th-placed Dallas Mavericks (36-38) is only 2.5 games.
Considering that Kevin Durant is not playing tonight, the Suns may drop another game. They have nine more games left in the season and the eighth-toughest remaining schedule, which is why they need the superstar forward to return as soon as possible.
Durant may return on Wednesday
According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Kevin Durant could return on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves (37-37). The NBA insider claims that the superstar is progressing towards his return and could play the remainder of the regular season.
Considering that the Timberwolves are only 1.5 games behind the Suns, this will be one of the most important games of the season for Phoenix.

Durant has played 42 games against the Timberwolves in his career. He's been fantastic in them, scoring 27.5 points on 49.7% shooting.
