Is LeBron James playing tonight against the Phoenix Suns?

Detroit Pistons v Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron James has missed the LA Lakers' last four games.

LeBron James last played for the LA Lakers against the LA Clippers on November 9. He left the game with about half of the fourth quarter still to be played.

The four-time MVP was in high spirits after the game, telling the media that he wasn’t concerned about the injury. He felt like it was a tweaked groin that wasn’t of the same severity as the one he suffered in his first season in Hollywood.

During the 2018-19 season, LeBron James played only 55 games. 20 of the games he missed that year were due to a groin injury. The injury was a big reason why the Lakers failed to make the playoffs that season.

After further tests, the LA Lakers downgraded James from day-to-day to out on November 11 against the Sacramento Kings. He has since then missed three more games due to a left adductor strain. LA listed him as questionable in each of those games but eventually kept him from playing.

In 10 games this season, the 18x All-Star is averaging 24.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.1 steals. The Lakers are 3-1 in their last four games where they didn’t have James.

Without LeBron James, it has been Anthony Davis who has been playing lights out for the Lakers. The team will continue to count on him and Russell Westbrook if James still needs more time to heal.

What is LeBron James' status for tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns?

The LA Lakers have officially listed LeBron James as questionable.

The LA Lakers have officially maintained his status as questionable based on their official injury report. Reports came out a few days ago that he had started practicing with the team but had been limited to non-contact drills. There has been no update yet on how much his condition has improved, considering the questionable tag that the Lakers have marked him with.

Over the last few years, James has appeared in the Lakers’ official injury report with questionable status. In some cases, the team eventually allowed him to play. It remains to be seen if that will be the case tonight when LA squares off with the Phoenix Suns.

When will LeBron James return?

The LA Lakers have not set a definite time table for "King James'" return.

There is also a very big chance that the LA Lakers could keep James sidelined. It will not be the first time they have exercised an overabundance of caution when it comes to recovery time for the four-time champ.

If James is sidelined tonight against the Suns, the Lakers will have two more days off before they take on the slumping San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers have already proven that they can handle the Spurs without their franchise player. They may choose to keep him out on Friday and Saturday in San Antonio.

LeBron James could return on November 28 for a home game against the Indiana Pacers. The Lakers will be extremely happy if they can take two out of three if James misses his next three games.
