The Golden State Warriors take on the new-look LA Lakers, who need to get on a winning run to get to the postseason, on Feb 11. The Warriors' job will be made harder by the fact that they will be without Steph Curry.
Curry last appeared for the Dub Nation in the win against the Dallas Mavericks, where he scored 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds in 25 minutes.
He had to come off after suffering a leg injury. It was later revealed that Curry had suffered partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane and also had a lower left leg contusion. The injury means that he has no chance of suiting up against the LA Lakers and will be re-evaluated after the NBA All-Star break.

LA Lakers to take on the Golden State Warriors without Steph Curry
Steph Curry has set the league alight this season, averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. He has missed two straight games for the Golden State Warriors and his team is 1-1 in this run. Klay Thompson produced a massive 42-point display against the OKC Thunder, while Jordan Poole contributed 21 points.
Both players were once again top scorers against the Portland Trail Blazers. Jordan Poole produced 38 points while converting seven of his 12 3-point attempts. But Damian Lillard’s 33-point triple double meant the Warriors ended up losing.
The team is seventh in the Western Conference with a 28-27 record and is in a good position to make it to the postseason. The same cannot be said about the LA Lakers, who need to come up with the goods, especially in the absence of Steph Curry.
The LA Lakers are expected to be without LeBron James, who has an ankle injury, but all of their new faces are expected to feature. This includes D’Angelo Russell, Mo Bamba, Jared Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley. LA needs to put together a winning run to still be in the reckoning for a play-in spot. They are currently 13th in the Western Conference with a 25-31 record.
It is fair to say that things have not gone right for them and winning against an in-form Golden State Warriors, even without Curry, may prove to be a challenge.
