Victor Wembanyama has absolutely taken the NBA by storm in recent months and he is yet to even be drafted into the league. Standing at seven foot two, Wembanyama boasts elite ball-handling skills to go along with a lethal jump shot.

Add to that the dominance he brings to the game with his size and Wembanyama has become the most sought-after young talent since LeBron James. With all 30 NBA teams eager to draft the French prospect, it seems only a matter of time until he gets drafted first overall. Although projections have him going first in the draft, Wembanyama isn't taking his foot off the gas.

With plenty of time left in this NBA season, Wembanyama's name has continued to surface in talks. Considering how NBA-ready he looks, the 2022 LNB All-Star Game MVP has managed to keep himself at the forefront of headlines. During a recent 'Let It Be Known' video, Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas sang Victor Wembanyama's praises.

"We got the Olympics coming up in Paris, French team, Victor Where-your-mama-at or Victor Wem, I can't say his last name. Victor's gonna be the number one pick in the draft 7'5, 7'6. One pick in the draft."
I can't even describe him. 7'2 7'3 7'4 7'5 7'6 You know, Shake it between the legs, finger rolling it like George Gervin, slam dunking. He's going to change the face of NBA. So Victor Wembenyama, let it be known."

It's no secret that every team in the league is currently vying for a top spot in the draft so they can land the French superstar. For bottom-tier NBA teams, the hope is that they can secure a top pick through the lottery. As for top-tier NBA teams, many are hoping to potentially trade up either before the draft or on draft night.

With all 30 teams eager to acquire Wembanyama, NBA commissioner Adam Silver had to implore teams not to tank this season. His comments and Wembanyama's presence in the upcoming draft have both brought the topic of tanking back into the spotlight.

Although the league has struggled to find ways to curb tanking, they're actively seeking solutions. One idea that was suggested was relegation. Despite the fact that promoting the top G League teams to the NBA presents a whole slew of challenges, it seems the idea is at least somewhat popular.

Adam Silver spoke about the idea of relegation, which comes from football, and the massive massive hurdles that stand in the way of implementing relegation.

"It would so disrupt our business model," Silver said. "And even if you took two teams up from the G League, they wouldn't be equipped to compete in the NBA."

As the league looks to combat tanking, Wembanyama's spot atop the upcoming draft class seems impossible to overlook. The only question now is which team will win the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes.
