Joel Embiid injury update: Embiid ruled out from Philadelphia Sixers indefinitely

Joel Embiid won't be available to play tomorrow night for the Philadelphia 76ers match against the Chicago Bulls. This will be his second straight missed game this month to deal with left foot soreness.

Reports came in early about Embiid's availability for tomorrow's game. However, the star center will miss another game, Sixers coach Doc Rivers confirmed.

According to Rivers, Embiid is reportedly "doing better." However, there's no confirmation of when the big man will return.

The Sixers organization said that Embiid will be evaluated after their game against the Detroit Pistons, which will take place on Sunday. The injury to the five-time All-Star also isn't that serious, according to the team. Philly will have three games without Embiid, who could possibly make a return to their Tuesday game against the Pistons.

Philly is 23-14 and has won three games in a row.

Joel Embiid might miss out on the MVP award this season again

Similar to the other candidates for the MVP award, Joel Embiid has been playing lights out this season. He's averaging a career-high 33.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists while also making 53.2% of his shots from the field. His desire to win the MVP is noticeable, but it could end in disappointment.

There are tons of threats to the four-time All-NBA's quest to win the Michael Jordan Trophy. Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, and Kevin Durant have all played well against their opponents. Additionally, they're carrying their teams to the top, giving them a huge shot at winning the award.

If Joel Embiid wants to win the award, the Sixers should do better and improve their record.
